Portfolio I

My work is about the discipline of seeking the presence of grace in detail. Every day in every space, there exists a simple unseen visual pleasure; the light on a surface, an elegant form, the way things touch the earth, a note inserted into daily life… I seek these nuanced moments in the spaces we inhabit and often overlook and translate them into a permanent object based in the wet plate collodion process. I use the ritual of this process to concentrate my recognition of the moment, ennobling the quotidian in order to create an object unique unto itself; one that honors both remembrance and the present.
